Single life was good in 2001 for Nicole Kidman, who did top-drawer work in "The Others" but was singled out for her turn as Satine, a courtesan in love with a poet but promised to a powerful rich guy in the wacked-out period musical "Moulin Rouge." It's Kidman's first nomination, and it won't be her first win. But she'll be back.
