After winning "Best Picture" last year but losing Best Director to Steven Soderbergh for "Traffic," this could — and should — be the year Ridley Scott turns the tables. "Black Hawk Down" had too narrow a mission to pick up even a nomination for Best Picture, but Scott's achievement — putting moviegoers through 100 minutes of Somali hell — deserves this narrow honor.
