Well, with all that box-office loot and 13 nominations to go with it, "Lord of the Rings" has got to pick up at least one non-technical Oscar to justify the film's bloated acclaim, and this one's it. Ian McKellen uses all his old-school-British-stage-actor magic tricks to class up wizard Gandalf the Grey, and he'll get the gold just for reminding us how much we miss Alec Guiness.
