Director of Food Services Chesapeake, VA Peggy Lee is director of food services in Chesapeake, VA. She is responsible for the overall operation of 47 schools that serve approximately 18,400 lunches and 4,100 breakfasts daily. This includes 400 employees, a $10.1 million annual budget, and central warehousing. Additionally, the department provides summer feeding, after school snack programs, and catering of school and community events. Previously, she was senior director of child nutrition services for the Norfolk Public Schools. Ms. Lee holds professional membership in the American School Food Service Association, where she has served on the Executive Board as Education Committee Chair (2001-03) and Treasurer (1996-98). She was awarded the ASFSA designation of School Foodservice and Nutrition Specialist in 1999. She also has served the Virginia School Food Service Association in numerous positions over the last 25 years, including President in 1983-84 and Outstanding Director of the Year 2002-03. She serves on the Board of Directors for the National Frozen Food Association and chaired the School Foodservice Committee from 1999-2002. Ms. Lee's earned her bachelor's degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in human nutrition and foods and her MBA from Old Dominion University.
