President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports


Lynn Swann is chairman of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. He is also a broadcaster for ABC sports and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Mr. Swann played on two Rose Bowl teams for USC and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played on four Super Bowl teams, was MVP of Super Bowl X, and was selected NFL Man of the Year in 1981.

He began his broadcasting career while still active with the Steelers in 1976. Upon retiring from pro football in 1983, he became a fulltime host, reporter and analyst, covering a variety of events including Monday Night Football, the summer and winter Olympics, the Triple Crown horse racing events and Wide World of Sports.

Since 1980, Lynn has been the national spokesman for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. He now serves on their National Board of Directors. An active community volunteer, he has provided over 100 scholarships to the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School. He earned his BA in public relations from USC School of Journalism.
