Marc Jacobs on Melrose
Melrose Place has always been one of Los Angeles' trendiest destinations. Heck, Aaron Spelling even named one of his TV shows after it. When Marc Jacobs' newest store opens at 8400 Melrose Place later this month, the cool factor is going to go up yet another notch. In addition to selling his ready-to-wear collection, shoes and accessories, it will be one of the first stores to carry his home line, including cashmere pillows and sterling-silver candlesticks. Just around the corner, another new retail space will house the less expensive Marc by Marc Jacobs line. And for all the designer's celebrity fans, a VIP studio is replacing the temporary accessories outlet he opened on Melrose in November. As if that weren't enough, Jacobs is opening another Collection shop in Bal Harbour, Fla.—which means Stephan Jaklitsch, the architect who has collaborated with Jacobs on every one of his locations, is having a very busy month.
