Flower Power
Playful garden motifs are sprouting up on home furnishings, clothing, even work tools

Gardens aren't the only thing in bloom this spring. Splashed over
everything from Sarut scissors and pliers to Bulgari jewels and Dior
shoes, flowers are turning into the season's sunniest trend. Even at
Helmut Lang's normally austere fashion show, models confidently strode
down the runway in pants covered with bursts of florals. "Fashion is
becoming much more feminine," says Dior designer John Galliano. "Mr.
Dior, like myself, always loved his garden. When better to be inspired
by flowers than in the spring?"
