"Fighter"

Jordin strategically elects to sing her new song first (is she saving I (Who Have Nothing) for later?). Points to Jordin for trying something new — not just the song, but its style, which is more in-your-face and aggressive than what she's shown us before. Pluses: the Xtina song brands Jordin as The Young Chick, and she pulls off some of those fire notes toward the end. Minuses: She sounds out of breath at times, the verses don't show off her drama-queen emotional strengths, and Simon is right, she is a bit screechy. However, now that Randy has picked up on the Performer-vs.-Singer meme, her singing performances automatically get bumped up by the judges.
