Ann Lee and Christian Sands
Grade: A-

Whoa, who let the real musicians in? During the Academy's annual appeal for music education, Ann Lee, a New York City public school student, shows her violin who's boss while pianist Christian Sands serves the moment and sets a mood without drawing attention to himself. Given that all the other performers this year came from the pop world—and that Lee and Sands had all of 30 seconds on stage—maybe next year the Grammys could make an appeal for music education by including an entire classical performance.
