Yahoo! says it has more unique U.S. users between the ages of 18 and 24 than Facebook and YouTube combined. But the competition is heating up. "Despite stats that show Yahoo! as a dominant player among all demographics," says Jordan Rohan, analyst for RBC Capital Markets, "The growth rates tell a story where Yahoo!'s dominance is being challenged by Google in search, MySpace and Facebook in social media and YouTube in video, among others." Rohan says that the failed deal between Yahoo! and Facebook may turn out to have been a blunder for Facebook.
