Yahoo!'s most successful in-house project recently was the creation of Yahoo! Answers, a free community question and answer site that so far has gathered nearly 200 million answers. Even Hillary Clinton has posed a question (about how best to improve the health care system), generating more than 37,000 answers. One of the most prolific of the site's users, Lisa Poirier, a professor at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, has answered nearly 1,500 questions, mostly about higher education. Millions of others are asking and answering questions on topics ranging from cooking to zoology. In addition to launching that site recently, Yahoo! has made several recent acquisitions, buying up video-editing site Jumpcut, contest site Bix and MyBlogLog, a tool that connects bloggers with their readers.
