I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry
by Hank Williams

There's no shortage of worthy versions of this song — Al Green's and Ray Charles' stand out; Terry Bradshaw's does not — but ol' Hank's original, written during one of his many troubled times with his wife, stands tallest. As always, Williams played with no drums and no superfluous gestures, just a basic little ditty about misery put to exquisitely simple words.
