Remy (voiced by comedian Patton Oswalt) is a rat out of water. He's lost his family in a sewer accident but found his vocation: chef in a posh Paris restaurant. How a rodent dreams up and prepares gourmet dishes — rather, how you are made to believe this, and to root for him and hundreds of his fellow vermin — is among the miracles of this latest beating-the-odds CGI comedy from writer-director Brad Bird (The Iron Giant, The Incredibles). No audio star turns here, just solid, seductive story-telling. Look for Pixar to extend its unbeaten streak to eight.
