Boasting the world's highest health club and its longest laundry chute (an 88-story descent), the Grand Hyatt Shanghai--tallest hotel on the planet--is now open for business. Occupying the top 34 floors of the Jin Mao Tower, China's tallest building (and No. 3 in the world), the hotel hovers above Shanghai's Pudong financial district. Two express elevators race to the 88th floor observatory in 49 seconds flat. Managers have 555 rooms to fill, a tall order indeed. The hotel is offering rooms from $138 a night until June 30, as well as a "Double Choice" promotion for British Airways Executive Club members to earn 1,000 bonus Gold Passport points for every two-night stay until May 31. The hotel has also launched a website at www.shanghai.hyatt.com for online bookings and information, or you can call the hotel at 86-21-5049-1234.
