TOURS DE FORCE: The next few months will bring some of the world's top dancers and musicians to Asia as they make the rounds on their summer tours. The Royal Ballet of England has scheduled performances of some of its most popular productions (including Swan Lake and La Fille Mal Gardée) across Japan and China from April 6 to May 14, while the English National Ballet stops off in Hong Kong from May 5 to 8 to perform Swan Lake before heading off to Australia. The Australian Ballet heads in the opposite direction for its 1999 Asian tour, with two shows at the Singapore Arts Festival (June 19 and 20) and four dates at the Shanghai Grand Theater (June 25 to 28). Several internationally acclaimed orchestras also will perform in Asia in the coming months, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, which celebrates music director Seiji Ozawa's 25th anniversary season with a swing through Japan and China from May 5 to 13. England's Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will play in Hong Kong on June 19 and 20. Watch your local listings for ticket information.
