Afghans are fleeing the country as U.S. military strike looms large
Ravaged by war and famine for the past two decades, Afghanistan is again facing
devastation as the United States plans a military action against Saudi terrorist
Osama bin Laden's training camps in the country. In recent days, tens of
thousands of innocent civilians have fled the country, heading to the Iran or
Pakistan border, in search for safety
Suffer the children ... A young Afghan refugee pleads with Pakistani
police to be allowed to accompany his mother to the hospital after she fainted
in a detention center in the Pakistani city of Quetta, near the border between
the two countries. Thousands of civilians and even some Taliban officials have
left the country's two cities, the capital Kabul and Kandahar in the south, in
recents days
