Lise Sarfati

French photographer Lise Sarfati studied Russia and spent ten years there working on personal subjects with Ministry of Culture grants from FIACRE in France and Villa Medicis. She has received awards from the Prix Niepce in Paris and the International Center of Photography in New York. In 2000 Sarfati published Acta Est (Phaidon), a book of photographs from Russia, and exhibited works from the book in the Maison Européennne de la Photographie in Paris in 2002. She has just finished an exhibition at the prestigious Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie in Arles, France in July 2002.
