An inside look at Asia's speed culture

Jacky, a hard-core drug addict, is hard at work with friend Nong. Bingeing in her Bangkok hovel, they share a tablet of meth, called 'yaba' or mad medicine by the Thais. Methamphetamine has become Asia's drug of choice, with an estimated 30 million users across the region. It is also threatening to cripple societies barely on the mend from the 1997 economic meltdown.
