GETTING AROUND
Kuala Lumpur has launched a bus service to shuttle visitors around the city's major landmarks. The six City Explorer buses run three separate routes with a 30-minute frequency. The first covers the Central Market and Merdeka Square area, the second makes stops around Masjid Negara, Bukit Bintang and Menara Kuala Lumpur, and the third takes visitors to the National Museum and the planetarium. Not a bad deal for the equivalent of just 25 cents. A 10-cent fare hike is being discussed to allow the bus company to hire guides. The service operates from 7 a.m. until midnight.

LOUNGE LIZARDS
Killing time at Kuala Lumpur International Airport is easy on the bottom line. For $18 couch potatoes in transit can hang around the Plaza Premium Lounge for five hours bingeing on soup, sandwiches, beer and movies. More productive travelers can plug their laptops into a broadband connection via their ethernet card.
