For
those who dream of truly ripping through an airport: a $6.2 million motorsport
facility has opened in, of all places, the former departure hall of Hong
Kong's abandoned Kai Tak airport. It offers a choice of two tracks, electric
go-kartswhich are slightly less powerful than their gas-powered
cousins, but non-pollutingplus restaurants and meeting rooms. The
go-karting isn't cheap: after purchasing a membership ($215), you have
to pay up to $32 for 12 minutes depending on the time of day. But moving
through any airport at speed is worth it. Tel: (852) 2718-8199.
