Singapore
Airlines and Shangri-La continue to be favorite airline and favorite
hotel (both business and resort categories) respectively. Singapore
is again voted the favorite business city and Changi Airport remains
the favorite airport in Asia. Bali repeated its win as the favorite
holiday city (with Singapore ranked a close 1% behind), while KrisFlyer
tops the frequent flyer membership program.
As
for the runners-up, Cathay Pacific and Asia Miles ranked second
in the favorite airline and frequent flyer program categories. Hong
Kong and Chek Lap Kok placed second against favorite business city
and favorite Asian airport.
Of
the 3411 respondents, 74% are male and the median age is 38 years.
93% are employed in business, industry, government or professional
sections. 29% of those employed are in senior management. TIME readers
are frequent air travelers: 79% traveled on business while 89% took
a leisure trip during the last 12 months. The average number of
combined trips was 3.7 per reader. 75% of them stayed in hotels
during the last year with the average number of nights at 11. Nearly
all readers (92%) traveled to Asia countries. Europe/Middle East
and the USA were the second and third ranked region that most people
had visited.
