In May of 1944, more than 1500 paratroopers took part in this exhibition jump, the largest ever conducted by the U.S. Army forces. A month later, on D-Day, Easy Company parachuted into Occupied France, part of an Allied force that included 23,000 paratroopers of which 13,000 were from the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions and more than 150,000 men in all.
