BAND OF BROTHERSTIME CLASSROOMBAND OF BROTHERS

SERIES WEBSITE

Working With Educators
Working with educators, historians and veterans, HBO has created a website at www.hbo.com/band that enriches and expands upon the Band of Brothers story.

First Wave Website (June to September, 2001),
The site includes an extensive collection of facts about the events leading up to and during World War II; a detailed chronology of the war; and a living memorial to which veterans and those close to them can contribute.

Second Wave Website (September, 2001)
Just before Band of Brothers premieres on HBO on September 9, 2001, a whole new area of the site will be revealed: one that acts as a companion to each episode of the miniseries.

Highlights of the Band of Brothers website:
Some areas of this website may not be live until Sept 9, 2001.

An arsenal of information of the Allied and Nazi armies, their weapons, vehicles, battles and victories.
A living memorial, offering veterans and those close to them the opportunity to contribute memories and photos. Here, veterans can relive the past and rediscover one another, while younger Americans can gain knowledge and understanding through the experiences shared and stories found on the site.
Contribute stories. Many World War II stories have never been heard; veterans and those close to them are invited to share stories and photos or add a remembrance of a comrade. As the memorial grows and stories are added, you can use keywords and dates to search the stories on the site.
A companion to each of the miniseries’ ten parts, debuting on September. 9, 2001, when Band of Brothers premieres on HBO. This area of the website will provide in-depth information, analysis and tracking of Easy Company as the paratroopers make their way across Europe. The site will also offer a behind-the-scenes look at production of the series, featuring interview with cast and crew members.
An interactive timeline beginning with the Treaty of Versailles and ending with VJ Day, that provides historical context for World War II.
