Despite improved weather, fighting continues with no end in sight. Stubborn al-Qaeda and Taliban holdouts have hunkered down inside caves in the mountainside, frustrating allied expectations at every turn. "We...know that they are exceedingly well dug in...they are also well supplied," U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says of the enemy's tenacity. Allied officials hope the fighting will end in the coming week, but are reluctant to make predictions.
