Does the world need more letters and faxes from Dr. Hunter S. Thompson? Absolutely. Walter Isaacson, Time Magazine's managing editor, commissioned a 3,000-word piece that appears on Monday. What follows are a half-dozen, raw HST communications that established some context for the piece, including a faxed, handwritten message to long-time collaborator Ralph Steadman; four dangerous screeds to Isaacson; and a portion of a Steadman sketch. We could tell you what's in these communiques, but why bother? As the good doctor observes, "res ipsa loquitur..."
