TIME CORRESPONDENT ED BARNES
April 7, 1999, America Online
Ed Barnes reports from Montenegro that Yugoslavia's struggle against NATO could plunge the entire country into civil war.

DIMITRI SIMES, PRESIDENT OF THE NIXON CENTER
April 6, 1999, Yahoo!
Dimitri Simes says that although President Clinton mishandled the Kosovo crisis, an all-out war could still be avoided if NATO can succeed in forcing President Slobodan Milosevic to surrender without sending in ground troops.

TIME Senior Writer Bruce Nelan
March 25, 1999, America Online
Bruce Nelan comments that Russia is unlikely to take military action in response to the NATO attacks and observes that, in a conflict that dates from the 15th century, easy answers to the questions plaguing Yugoslavia are unlikely.

Tufts University Fletcher School of Law and DIplomacy Prof. Carnes Lord
March 24, 1999, Yahoo!
Prof. Lord, who served as national security affairs advisor to Vice President Dan Quayle, disagrees with President Clinton's characterization of Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic as a modern-day Hitler. The chances of war spreading throughout the region if NATO had failed to act, he says, are slight.

Major General Edward B. Atkeson, Center for Strategic and International Studies Senior Associate
March 24, 1999, America Online
Major General Atkeson, who served as deputy commandant of the US Army War College and as deputy chief of staff intelligence, US Army Europe, discusses what military options are open for Yugoslavia, and comments that a prolonged attack could weaken NATO's resolve.
