GO-GO GRANDMA
I never felt prouder than when I saw my great-grandma, Ethyl Grierson, on the cover of Time Digital magazine [Cover, December]. O.K., her white go-go boots may be a little old school, but she's had them in her closet for 60 years! When we double-date and she starts "frugging" and "doin' the swim," the "fellas" just "go ape"! I've learned so much about life and history from my great-grandma. She is such a wise and enjoyable person (as well as a white-hot babe).
I think your interview really reflects the exciting modern realities of experimental life-extension treatments and NTDCD (neo-telomeric dissipative cellular detoxification).
Kelli Grierson, San Francisco
YOU SORRY TECHNOCRATS
reached new lows with your cover story on my mother-in-law [Cover, December]. In a moment of senile weakness, Mrs. Grierson sold our home and mortgaged our family's financial future with her crazy, self-indulgent and extremely expensive biotech extravagance. She may look "taut, tanned and trim," but beneath that white vinyl shift is the freakish body of a genetically warped chimera. To have your reporter publicly speculate on the "romantic availability" of a 90-year-old great-grandmother was a grotesque affront, as well as another sad example of how far our decadent society has departed from the laws of nature, decency and morality.
Brandi Grierson, Omaha, Neb.
WISE GUY: WISE UP
I am a graduate of the Magnitogorsk Cognitive Re-Education Center, which you decry in your ridiculous article "Russia's New Gulag?" [Features, December]. Since my neural reprogramming, I can tell you sincerely, from the bottom of my head, that as a former criminal-gang member, I now understand honesty, decency and law and order for the very first time. You globalist Yankee hypocrites have no understanding of our noble Russian culture. If you ever show your faces in the Malyshevsky turf in St. Petersburg, you will get a good piece of my mind.
Yuri "Elefant" Alymov, St. Petersburg
FOREVER DIGITAL
Kudos to you on the editorial decision to stick with the time-honored title Time Digital. Thank God you're not switching over to Bio-, Geno- or Pharma-Time like all those "hot goo" Johnny-come-latelies. I've been a loyal subscriber since 1999, and I depend on Time Digital for your classical values, your accurate reporting and your sober sense of tradition.
Good move sticking to colored inks on wood-pulp paper too. Sure, it's old-fashioned, but that's just the way I like it.
Dave Webster, Route 128
CORRECTION
The Road Freak driving software featured in our December article "Rampage Snarls L.A. Highways" was incorrectly characterized as "out-of-control macho fetishware." The developer, Dream Machine, insists that Road Freak is a thrill simulator and that it was never intended for use in actual trucks and cars.
