DENNIS KUCINICH
Fiscal Policy, Economy, Labor and Agriculture
Kucinich wants to create a new Works Progress Administration and spur the economy by offering $50 billion a year in zero-interest loans to states and cities for such infrastructure projects as public transportation, power grids, water systems and parks. He wants such projects built with American steel, and supports raising the minimum wage and eliminating the President's ability to intervene and halt strikes. Kucinich proposes breaking up big agribusiness companies he accuses of being monopolies, and working to restore fair prices for farm products. He also wants tougher environmental rules on factory farms, and labeling of genetically modified foods.
