The 2000 tech-wreck in the U.S. crippled Asian markets, too. After all, this is where much of the hardware sitting on your desktop gets made. For brave souls, there are bargains to be had in Taiwan's tech sector, suggests Ken Courtis of Goldman Sachs Asia. But stock picking in Asia is still too tricky for individual overseas investors. On the upside, lower rates in the U.S. could spur locals to invest closer to home. Investors are also more convinced that China is in the free market to stay and that South Korea's insular corporate culture will continue to open up.   next
