Cell phones will start packing the functionality of PCs, personal digital assistants and MP3 players. Asian consumer electronics companies, like Panasonic, Samsung and Mitsubishi, will start to grab more market share in handsets. Sony will remain the dark horse in the cellular market while Fujitsu will offer other types of multifunction portable gizmos, such as a pocket-sized digital camera, video recorder and MP3 player combined.
