In 1995, a dissident Lloyd's investor commissioned the London firm of Memery Crystal to prepare an investigative report on Lloyd's of London, officially titled "Concealment by Lloyd's of the nature and scale of liability in repect of asbestos claims".

In 1995, David West and his daughters, Deborah and Susan, revived claims made originally by the State of California that Lloyd's insiders comspired to defraud investors by lying to them about the risks of Lloyd's investments. That lawsuit was settled out of court; the Wests' case is pending.
