Photographer Greg Williams spent nearly a year with the family of Londoner Donna Mellowship, chronicling in images Donna's struggle and ultimate death from Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. That the Mellowships welcomed him into their home at one of the most difficult times in their lives is testimony to the level of trust in him not only as a photographer but also as a person.
Williams' sense of humanity and awareness of the world around him developed early. At the age of 19, he smuggled himself into Burma to cover the civil war there. For the next six years, he worked for a range of international magazines, pursuing a broad range of assignments and stories. In 1999, he became a founding member of the creative talent management and production firm Growbag. His book, "On Set," a collection of photographs on movie making today, was published in July 2000.
