Lost Fortuyn
A nation known for its tolerance mourns for a leader with extreme views

Friday, May 10, 2002: People throw flowers on the white hearse carrying the body of assassinated Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn. Thousands of mourners lined the streets of Rotterdam to watch the funeral procession. After the funeral service at the city's Roman Catholic cathedral, there was a private burial at the cemetery at Driehuis-Westerveld near Ijmuiden.
