LOOK IN: A student on the four-year course in watchmaking at Le Locle Technical Training College. Techniques like hand-polishing screw-heads until they gleam like mirrors, or grinding axle-ends down to a 10th of a millimeter using miniature lathes are par for the course. And the young apprentices are also assimilating that other cardinal virtue in a watchmaker's character: patience.
