BUSH'S POPULARITY 82% of Americans surveyed last week approve of how the President is doing his job, down from 87% last month. PRESSING PROBLEMS Asked what they thought was the main problem facing the nation, 45% in September answered terrorism; only 8% said the economy. Now 26% say it's the economy, vs. 25% who say terrorism. LOWERED EXPECTATIONS In October, 61% said the U.S. needed to capture or kill Osama bin Laden for the war to be considered a victory; the current figure is 46%. ON TO IRAQ? Fully 73% would support the U.S.'s sending ground troops to overthrow Saddam Hussein.
