Bottega at Home

Tomas Maier Recently discovered that many of the clients who clamor for his handwoven leather bags and luggage also want the furniture that's sold in Bottega Veneta flagship stores. So he asked the carpenter who makes the hard-case luggage to construct a few small pieces. The result is an entire line of furniture that will be sold exclusively at Bottega Veneta stores. The 20 styles—from a simple side table or small dining table to a python-skin bookcase—can be custom-ordered in a wide range of materials. "When we started the line, we thought about furniture as an accessory," says Maier, the brand's creative director. "I'm always moving things around in my house, and that kind of furniture is very hard to find—the low table to go behind a couch, for example."
