Speaking of deft touches, were you trying to set off Cruise?

It just happened. Once it happened, I had a lot of choices to make. The street fighter in me wants to lash out. But the host in me said this is extraordinary television and don't let it end. I knew this would be great TV. Cruise had no intention of listening to me. I was focused on seeing an interesting side of him. At the same time, I was watching this guy come into my living room and not keeping it a professional discussion. He was pointing at me. That changed everything, and I never looked back.

Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?

Probably on some baseball field, coaching my son's Little League. At some point I'll take early retirement to be a stay-at-home dad, Mr. Mom.
