Would you ever consider repeating a character from one of your movies? I think it would be fascinating to see Danny Rose [from 1984's [ITALIC {Broadway DannyRose}]] in the autumn of his years.Ed Hamilton, San Angelo, Texas
I've had many offers to do those things and I've always resisted them. I never like to make sequels or make my plays into movies or my movies into musicals. Once I do something, it's over for me. Many people have contacted me over the years to make [another] Annie Hall to see what happens with me and [Diane] Keaton down the line. It doesn't interest me enough to do it.

Well it's nice of her to say that. I probably started off very bad when I was younger. Anything that happens is registered as an improvement. That's the only thing I can think of. It's great. I've just been lucky that I haven't yet fallen apart. But it will happen one day.
