A recent Duke University study found that 23% of men and 9% of women over 50 have more than five drinks in one sitting at least once a month--a level of consumption that researchers warn can pose serious health risks. Those who overindulged, the study found, were often coping with such problems as unemployment, divorce and prescription-drug abuse.
