LOCAL AFFAIRS
Rocky Road
Sweet transvestites from Transsexual, Transylvania, are unwelcome in Carrollton, Ga. The city's mayor put a stop to a production of The Rocky Horror Show at the local cultural center, arguing that the content was too risqué. Looks as if Carrollton's theater troupe will have to time warp to a new venue.
THE EDGE OF THE WORLD
Visitors to David Byrne's new installation underneath New York City's High Line will likely hear it before they see it. Which is fitting, given his musical background and run as lead singer of Talking Heads. On display through Oct. 1, Tight Spot is a 48-ft.-by-20-ft. inflatable globe that pulsates with sounds made by Byrne's voice.
TAX SITUATION $420,000
Production costs for the first season of Jersey Shore that could be retroactively covered by New Jersey taxpayers under the state's newly approved film tax credit

REVIEW
MUSIC
Wilco The Whole Love
No one can ever accuse Wilco of sticking to a formula. The Chicago band's eighth album is full of guitar freak-outs, polyrhythmic tunes and one sprawling, lullaby-esque track that lasts over 12 minutes. The first single, "Born Alone," has a sunny melody so classic you'll wonder why no one ever thought to write it before.

MUSIC
ACL at 10
Between a heat wave, wildfires and a severe drought, the residents of Austin have had a rough summer. So what better pick-me-up than a music festival? Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Austin City Limits brought out superstars like Kanye West, Coldplay and Stevie Wonder (above), who rocked a keytar during his second-night headlining gig.

It will feature rides, shops and food based on the fictional world of Pandora. Disney plans to break ground in 2013, with an opening tentatively set for 2016.
