Tattoo? What Tattoo?
Mike Tyson's new facial tattoo might strike his fancy now, but one day he may join the legions of folks who want nothing more than to remove or conceal their body art. Brides, job seekers and those who don't want to rattle Granny often seek temporary camouflage for tattoos in lieu of expensive, time-consuming laser treatments, which can cost up to $1,000 a session. "Ever since tattoos became trendy and popular and more people are getting them without understanding the long-term repercussions we've been receiving calls from people asking how to cover tattoos," says Patricia Saito-Lewe, vice president of sales and marketing for Ben Nye Makeup, a professional and theatrical makeup manufacturer. TIME tested three concealers to see how they stack up:
Ben Nye Concealer Palette ($36) Does a fine job but you need a lot of time to apply several layers of concealer and finisher. Clean, smooth consistency.
Dermablend Leg and Body Cover ($17) Easy, one-step liquid application. Excellent concealer that leaves scant tattoo traces.
NeoStrata CoverBlend ($22) Comes in 14 shades one should match your skin tone but requires multiple steps and has an oily consistency.
