An Almond Surprise
Go a little nutty. The International Journal of Obesity reports that people whose low-calorie diets included 3 oz. of almonds a day were slimmer than those who ate an equal number of calories in complex carbs. The almonds' fiber may prevent the body from absorbing all the fat. But watch it: even a skinny nut is packed with calories.
