Performance Of The Week
The U.S. has yet to elect its first female president, but it did reach an important feminist milestone last week when CANDACE PARKER, who at 17 is not yet eligible to vote, beat out five young men in the slam-dunk portion of a national high school basketball competition. The 6-ft. 3-in. Parker, only the second woman to qualify for the event, plans to attend the University of Tennessee in the fall.
