Department of Commerce figures: 1923 (eight months ended Aug. 31 —Passenger cars, 2,431,063: trucks, 258,771. 1922 (entire year)—Passenger cars, 2,339,414; trucks, 244,882. 1921 (entire year)—Passenger cars 1,535,196; trucks, 147,168.
