All was serene in Ecuador. Following the recent, peaceful, bloodless revolution (TIME, July 20), impenetrable calm settled upon the country. A new Government was formed:

Modesto Larrea Jijon, President.

Jose Rafael Bustatnante, Foreign Affairs.

Pedro P. Garaicoa, Education.

Francisco Bolona, Labor.

General Moises Oliva, Public Works.

Luis Napoleon Dillon, Treasury. General

Francisco Gomez de la Torre.† War and Navy.

†It was this man—General Francisco Gomez de la Torre—who precipitated the peaceful, bloodless revolution.
