National Affairs: Blooming Grove
From Marion, Ohio, came the news that President Harding purchased the farm on which he grew up265 acres and the house where he was born. It lies on the outskirts of the little village of Blooming Grove, Bloomfield Township, Morrow County, Ohio. Simon E. Harding, great-great-uncle of the President, originally laid out the village, which is far from any railroad. Two hundred people live there now.
It was in Blooming Grove that Warren Harding received his first education. The house where he was born, though dilapidated, still stands. When the President returns to his boyhood scene he is expected to build a modern bungalow and lay out a private golf course. Then, in the leisure of his retirement, he will play and write.
