In Albany, N. Y., during the spring of 1924, 200 persons contracted typhoid fever from drinking polluted city water, among them the young son of one John Weisner. He sued the city for $3,000 damages on the principle that the municipality was negligent in not giving timely and sufficient warning against dangerous drinking water. Last month, he won the suit.
