Business: Judge Lovett Retires
Robert S. Lovett, for ten years Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Union Pacific Railroad, announced his retirement from active management of the company on Jan. 1 next, on the score of age and health. Mr. Lovett will, however, continue with the U. P. in the newly created post of " Chairman of the Board," with the task of directing matters connected with consolidations and with the valuation of railroad properties in which the Interstate Commerce Commission is now engaged.
