JAPAN-CHINA: Demigod's Relict

The crashing wave of affairs that brought an end to the Nationalist Government of President Chiang Kai-shek (see col. 2) last week raised an echoing rumble from Shanghai. In Shanghai lives a demigod's relict, the widow of the late great Dr. Sun Yatsen, who lies in a $3,000,000 tomb outside Nanking, venerated as the prophet of the Chinese Republic. Mme Sun Yat-sen was educated at Wesleyan College, Macon, Ga. and Wellesley. She is a sister-in-law of Chiang Kai-shek and a member of the "Soong Dynasty," the family that controlled the Nationalist Government....
