Foreign News: Beauty Hints
To help Nazi women stay pretty although they lack an adequate supply of soap, creams and lotions, Beauty Expert Anna Charlotte Romer of the German Labor Front last week offered hints:
1) Ivy leaves are a good substitute for soap. Soap "deprives the body of fat," anyhow, and it is better to take a lot of soapless air baths.
2) Milk facial baths are not necessary. Rain water and a wild chestnut brew can be substituted. Expert Romer's chestnut recipe: "Peel the chestnuts, dry and grind them, then boil them. Use the broth thus concocted. This is a great cleanser."
3) As for diet, women in search of beauty can always get needed vitamins from cabbage, carrots, parsley, apples.
